NOLA
There’s something comfortable about playing a venue for the second or third time; particularly when it’s close to home. After living in South Louisiana for twenty years, playing New Orleans House of Blues with my New Orleans “recording band” was a real blast and felt like a true homecoming. We have been working on a live record of our shows this winter and spring- look for more news as we begin to announce our summer tour dates. As always- thanks for listening!

Inspiration
As a writer, the search for inspiration is (for me) a somewhat random process. Some song ideas come from the mundane details of daily life; some from places I least expect or can explain. The closest source I have to a “sure thing” is to visit the Santa Barbara coast, where I just spent Thanksgiving. The ocean and mountains, combined with the many close friends and memories that reside there never fail to create the catalyst for a new song. “King City”, “Nothing I Can Say” and “Scene of the Crime” were all finished while taking in the view below, and look for a new song “Roll with The Tide” to come out in early 2012 to add to my California Coastal collection. Wishing you a happy and inspiring holiday season!

Rockwood Music Hall!
It is starting to feel like fall in NYC, and the live music scene is in full swing for October. Our favorite venue Rockwood Music Hall has several acts not be missed in the week ahead: My label mates Tony Lucca, Matt Duke and Jay Nash will play stage 2 at 7:30 pm on Friday 10/7, and my good friend Dan Mackenzie will rock stage 1 at 10pm that same evening. I will be out Sunday night at 8pm to hear amazing guitarist Adam Levy, and then we will have our turn on Friday 10/14 at 7:30pm…so get out and support live music— hope to see you at the shows!

West Coast Summer Tour with TFDI!
I am really excited to be on the road in August as the opening act for TFDI, the new project from singer/songwriters Jay Nash, Tony Lucca and Matt Duke. Their recently released album “When I Stop Running” is receiving great reviews, and they are dynamic and exciting live performers. Music blog The Round Table calls the record “An instant classic”; deservingly the digital album debuted at #3 on the Itunes singer/songwriter charts. We will start in LA on 8/18 at Hotel Cafe and end at Anthology in San Diego on 8/28- See you on the road!

Summer Traditions
Fireworks, Barbecue and trips to the beach; these summer traditions usher in the relaxed season when everything seems to slow down, and present us the opportunity to savor family, friends and other familiarities. Spending the July 4th weekend performing at the Coca-Cola Festival hosted at the US National Whitewater Center in Charlotte was the perfect way to ease into summer for the band. When in the Charlotte area, I would strongly urge a visit to this amazing facility. The rafting, kayaking and mountain biking are all world class, and you can also go rock climbing or ride the zipline over the river (not for me…)
USNWC has also developed into a great concert venue- this weekend alone they will host headliners Jason Isbell, Langhorne Slim and Anders Osborne. We were happy to be in the lineup, and hope to make this event a part of our summer traditions!
Next up- Back to NYC and our annual beach show at the Stephen Talkhouse- margaritas for all- hope to see you there, and as always thanks for listening.

Summer?
After living with the unpredictable weather we have had in NYC this spring, our upcoming trip south to Jammin’ Java in Virginia and then to Nashville for some studio sessions will (hopefully) be a nice introduction to summer. We have some fun shows lined up for the next month, including our first appearance at the Coca-Cola 4th of July Festival in Charlotte on 7/2 and a return to the Stephen Talkhouse in Amagansett on 7/7. Hope to see you at a show, and as always thanks for listening!
House of Blues New Orleans
-
Louisiana
Early Friday morning we head to Louisiana for a show with Sister Hazel at the House of Blues in New Orleans, and a Saturday show in Lafayette at the Shed. After the long, cold alleged spring here in NYC looking forward to the humidity and some good food. Hope to see you at one of the shows!

Back to the Rockwood!
We started in Chicago, went as far west as LA and as far south as Baton Rouge- 17 gigs, 4 live radio performances and 1 TV appearance later we are back to NYC and our favorite Rockwood Music Hall. We are tighter as a band (and as friends) and are extremely grateful for all the support we have had on the road. We plan on celebrating the end of our run with a blowout show on 4/28 featuring a few surprises and twists- hope to see you there!
